Producer Vijay Kiragandur will present Rathnan Prapancha, the maiden production venture of KRG Studios. With Dhananjay playing the lead, this comedy-drama will be directed by Rohith Padaki and jointly produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj.
The company KRG Studios, which has been into distribution for three years, recently announced their latest venture, a digital marketing solution called KRG Connects. This was launched by actors Yash and Radhika Pandit, after which the distribution company is now taking its first step to production. The first look poster was released on the occasion of Varamahalakshmi festival.
Rathnan Prapancha’s story is written by director Rohith Padaki along with his team. The film will have cinematography by Sreesha Kuduvalli, while the music will be done by Ajaneesh Lokanth. The editing desk will be looked after by Deepu S Kumar, and Shivakumar will handle the art department.
According to the director, Rathnan Prapancha will see the journey of Rathnakara, the character played by Dhananjay. “The film blends with humour and emotions,” says the director, adding that, Dhananjay will be seen as a common man. “The film also explores the relationship between mother and son. And this will be blended in with comic elements.”
Producer Yogi G Raj tells us they were in the process of starting a production venture for sometime now, but were waiting for a good project to start off with. “This happened with Rathnan Prapancaha. Everything was finalised during this lockdown. At present, preparation is going on and shoot will start in September. If we’re ready and depending on the pandemic situation, we might even start earlier,” says the director-turned-producer.
Subject-wise, producer Karthik Gowda, says Rathnan Prapancha follows a contemporary style and the film will be new-age. “We have finalised locations such as Bengaluru, Mysuru, Malnad, and Gadag. We will also be going to either Kashmir or Kerala, depending on the pandemic,” the producer tells us.
The production house, which has finalised the lead and technicians, is in the process of casting the heroine and remaining artistes.
