Bollywood connection of Marvel’s Eternals?

CE Features

Shortly after the premiere of the first footage from Marvel’s Eternals, netizens spotted a fascinating Indian connection of the upcoming superhero film. Indian actor Harish Patel, best known for his portrayal of Ibu Hatela in the Hindi film Gunda, makes a blink-and-miss appearance alongside Kumail Nanjiani in the brief teaser.

Released in 1998, Gunda has achieved cult status over the years. Ibu Hatela’s dialogue from the film that goes, “Ma meri chudail ki beti, baap mera shaitan ka chela (my mother is the daughter of a witch and my father is the devil's disciple),” is considered iconic.

Harish Patel has also acted in films like Mohra, Ankhen, Andaz Apna Apna, Calcutta Mail, and Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, in the 90s and early 2000s, to name a few. He was last seen in the Mindy Kaling-produced web series Four Weddings and a Funeral in 2019.

However, there has been no official confirmation on the casting of Eternals yet.

Eternals, directed by Chloe Zhao, is set for release on November 5 this year.
